For the connection of a power generating unit (PGU) or power generating facility (PGF) to the electrical supply grid, proof of conformity with the grid connection rules of the network operators is required.

This applies to all voltage levels, whether low, medium, or high voltage. An essential component of the declaration of conformity is the verification of the decoupling protection device. This must be carried out for every PGU and at the PGF. As an accredited and FGW-compliant measurement institute, WIND-consult GmbH offers this service with experience from over 250 tests, thereby supporting you in obtaining the required declaration of conformity.

BASIS OF THE PROCEDURE

The testing of the decoupling protection device offered by WIND-consult is based on the specifications of valid standards and guidelines, such as the

SCOPE OF MEASUREMENT

  • Verification of the parameters stored in the decoupling protection device in accordance with the FGW TR8 questionnaire for network operators
  • Testing of the undervoltage protection U< and U<< • Testing of the overvoltage protection U> and U>>
  • Testing of the underfrequency protection f< • Testing of the overfrequency protection f>
  • Testing of the reset ratios of the overvoltage and undervoltage protection
  • Additional tests such as wiring checks or testing of the entire functional chain

PROCEDURE

Measurements are taken directly at the decoupling protection device. The voltage and frequency values required for the test are provided by a WIND-consult grid simulator. The trip values and times of the decoupling protection device are recorded simultaneously by the grid simulator.

EVALUATION OF THE MEASUREMENT

At the end of the test, a guideline-compliant protection test report is provided, which records the specified parameters and the associated trip values and times. The protection test reports from WIND-consult are recognized by network operators and certification bodies.
